After returning to the United Kingdom, Prince Harry claims to be "exhausted and overwhelmed."

After spending a week at home in the United Kingdom, Prince Harry is giving a press conference. The Duke of Sussex opened up to People magazine, telling the outlet he was "exhausted and overwhelmed" from a two-day appeal hearing surrounding the British government's choice to strip him of security while in the country after he stepped back from his role as a working royal in 2020.

According to the magazine, Harry believes that his security was cut off in order to lure him and his wife Duchess Meghan back to the United Kingdom after they fled to Duchess Meghan's home state of California. He called the security issue "difficult to swallow."

After a fan outburst, Prince Harry rushed out of the courthouse as a security precaution.

"Worst fears have been confirmed by the whole legal disclosure in this case — and that’s really sad," Harry stated to People. During the prince's two-day visit to London's Royal Courts of Justice for his appeal regarding changes to his protection in Britain, Harry's lawyer issued a warning on April 9 that the security changes could endanger his life. One must not forget the human dimension to this case: there is a person sitting behind me whose safety, whose security and whose life is at stake," his lawyer Shaheed Fatima told the court as Harry watched.

Due to issues with their mental health, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan left the royal life. It's been a dramatic week for the former working royal.

He was rushed out of court during day two of the hearing after an apparent fan made critical comments about the press, according to People and BBC News. A spokesperson for Harry declined to speak with USA TODAY. The appeal is just one of several legal cases involving the litigious father of two, 40, who has been entangled in more than a half-dozen lawsuits in both the U.S. and England against various media entities.

Harry has long had a particular issue with the media in the United States and Great Britain. One reason for this is that he believes they are to blame for the paparazzi chase in Paris in 1997 and the subsequent car accident that killed his mother, Princess Diana. Harry and Meghan's approach to the media and their handling of the royal exit, which was done in part over the couple's mental health concerns. The decision to revoke Harry's security has been criticized by his lawyers, who cited threats from Al Qaeda and the couple's own 2023 paparazzi chase after they left a charity event in New York City.
